Love Animals? Interested in Biology? Need community service hours? Two shifts a month at the zoo ought to scratch all those itches, and the application opens this Saturday, October 10th.
The Zoo Teen program is designed for teens to share their passion for animals and conservation with zoo guests while gaining valuable life and job readiness skills. Teens will create and run games, crafts, and activities at education stations in the zoo that will empower our community to be good stewards of the earth. Throughout the seasons, they will also get the chance to help with special events, including Species in the Spotlight, Overnights, Nature Explorers, and more. Zoo Teens will work with like-minded peers, expand their knowledge on conservation, and be an integral part of the Sac Zoo team! Regular shifts are 3 hours long and occur on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. Teens are required to work at least 2 shifts per month. Special Event shifts will vary.
